New surgery technique combining robotics and laparoscopy using the Hugo™ RAS system
Contents
The article details a novel surgical technique combining robotics and laparoscopy using the Hugo™ Robot-Assisted Surgery (RAS) system for hybrid total laparoscopic hysterectomy. This method integrates the precision of robotic assistance with traditional laparoscopic surgery, where the camera and assistant forceps are robotically controlled while the surgeon performs the laparoscopic procedures. The study evaluates the effectiveness of this hybrid approach in reducing surgical errors and improving stability during operations compared to conventional laparoscopic methods. The findings demonstrate that the Hugo™ RAS system enhances surgical accuracy and training, with no significant difference in operative duration compared to traditional methods. The technique also shows a reduction in grasping errors and needle misalignment, offering a potentially cost-effective and efficient solution for improving gynecologic surgeries.
